Capabilities

Our fleet specializes in self unloading and freight placement applications. With proper site access, we can unload products as heavy as 5,000 lbs. within 10' of the side of the truck, or reach out to as much as 30' from the side of the truck with up to 2,000 lbs.

To have proper access to use our cranes for unloading, the site for planned delivery must have room for our 64' long tractor trailer to enter, navigate and exit the site. Our crane operators will not operate the cranes directly under power lines, during lightning storms, nor will we reach over vehicles or people. The operator must have direct line of sight to operate the crane. The receiving customer is responsible for limiting pedestrian and vehicular traffic while unloading takes place, and any local permits required to gain access to the site shall be the responsibility of the customer to secure prior to delivery. Our operators reserve the right to make final determination as to whether freight can be unloaded and placed where originally planned.

Wausau Transit will make every effort to reasonably accommodate customer requests for unloading, but we will not be held liable for such items as cracked or broken sidewalks or curbs or for damage caused to lawns or landscaping when directed to travel over them by the customer or their representative.
